But "meets standards" and "no concerns" are different things, and Palm Harbor homeowners — especially those in older homes — have specific water quality considerations worth understanding.

Pinellas County Utilities operates as a member government of Tampa Bay Water, a regional wholesale authority blending water from three sources: the Hillsborough River, the Floridan Aquifer, and Tampa Bay desalination. This blended supply is treated at two main facilities before entering the distribution network that serves Palm Harbor.
The blending ratio shifts seasonally — during dry season, groundwater and desalinated water make up a larger share. This shifting ratio affects water chemistry, including hardness, dissolved organic matter, and disinfection byproduct formation potential.
Disinfection: Chloramines and Their Byproducts
