GE MXRC Replacement Water Filter for Monogram Built-Ins: Compatibility Guide

GE Monogram built-in refrigerators are premium appliances — and the MXRC round filter cartridge they use tends to carry a premium price tag to match. The good news: it's a standard-spec cartridge, and a quality compatible replacement works exactly the same way.

The compatible option
The Waterdrop MXRC-compatible cartridge we carry matches the OEM form factor, threads into the same head, and uses an activated carbon block to knock down chlorine taste and odor in water and ice. It's a simple twist-off, twist-on swap — no tools. See the MXRC-compatible filter in The DIY Shop.
Replacement tips
- The cartridge sits at the top-front of the fresh food compartment behind the grille on most Monogram built-ins.
- Twist the old cartridge counterclockwise; expect a small drip — keep a towel handy.
- Thread the new cartridge on clockwise until snug.
- Flush 2–3 gallons through the dispenser before use.
Never buy this filter at the last minute again
The MXRC should be replaced about every six months. On our product page you can choose Auto-Ship — pick a 3, 6, or 12-month schedule and a fresh filter shows up at your door right when it's due. Same price as one-time purchase, cancel anytime, and your ice never develops that end-of-filter taste.
A note for Florida homes
Most Tampa Bay area utilities disinfect with chlorine or chloramine, and that taste goes straight into your ice and drinking water when a fridge filter is past its prime. If the water tastes off even with a fresh filter, the issue is usually what's coming into the house — not the fridge. We'll test it for free: book a free in-home water test and we'll show you exactly what's in your tap water.
